‘You can easily turn anything or anyone into a unicorn, so unicorns are great for celebrities, for Instagram, for dark political times. Unicorns were made for us and this current moment.’ That, according to ‘global trends expert’ Daniel Levine, explains the western world’s current obsession with all things Unicorn, be it desserts, beverages, tech accessories, pool floats, party themes or beauty products.
The search term ‘Unicorn’ officially overtook her mythical cousin the ‘Mermaid’ this year, according to Google, and there is no sign of the infatuation with the magic and whimsy of the fairy-tale beings waning anytime soon.
The Unicorn Rainbow Wig indeed continues to be our best selling costume wig with it’s popularity likely to peak around festival season. If you’re yearning to embrace the unicorn trend when it comes to hair and makeup for an upcoming shindig, photo-shoot or hell, just a trip to the supermarket (a la Miley Cyrus) inhale a sprinkling of inspiration featuring a host of creative beauties who opted for our eternally popular pastel wig.

4. Painted In Pink (via YouTube Really Mili)
The fabulous Mili describes pink as ‘the happiest colour of them all’ and we adore this face and body concept inspired by her favourite shade. If you’ve elected a bright, multi-tonal outfit or have a specific colour theme in mind for your unicorn ensemble, a block coloured wig can be just effective. Opt for a heat friendly wig in a pastel shade ensuring the freedom to create waves, curls or a ‘crimped mane’ look.
