Scooby-Doo Cosplay: Genderbend Makeup & Wigs

Jinkies! Scooby-Doo Cosplay Wigs With A Modern Twist

Scooby-Doo Cosplay will forever be a popular pick thanks to the franchise’s ability to stay relevant through the decades. Starring a gang of quirky characters with their own unique style and unmistakable, colourful looks, the timeless crew is the definition of #squadgoals.

The on-trend art of modernising a beloved character by switching up a few details to channel the cosplayer’s personality and embrace current trends, is exactly what the brilliant @sunsetat2am achieved with her recreation of every Mystery Incorporated member.

Take a look at her inspired Scooby-Doo looks below:

Daphne Wig Scooby-Doo

Daphne Blake – Creepers! Check out that colour palette. The fashion-loving scream queen would be incredibly proud of this look featuring eyeshadows by Sugarpill, lip gloss by Trixie Cosmetics in Mellow Drama and the NYX lipliner in Brunch Me. The perfect modern Daphne wig pictured = the Autumn Orange Wig.

Fred Wig Scooby-Doo Womens

Fred Jones - Let’s split up gang! The first of two genderbend cosplay looks with a definite nod to the original 70s style. This clever take was achieved using Suva Beauty’s Hydra Liner in Blue Steel and NYX’s Epic Wear Liner Stick in Orange Zest. The retro pageboy wig in platinum blonde is an ideal pick for a woman’s Fred wig owing to its 1970s inspired cut and carefully coiffured finish.

Velma Wig

Velma Dinkley – Jinkies! The intelligent, quick-witted and predominant mystery solver does beauty and brains with this modern makeover. The gorgeous on-trend faux freckles were created using Freckle Tint by Lottie London and those luscious lips are courtesy of Lime Crime Wet Cherry Lip Gloss in Extra Poppin. The dark red wavy bob wig completes the look with the perfect Velma-esque length and all-important blunt bangs.

Shaggy Wig Womens Scooby-Doo

Shaggy Rogers – Zoinks! What’s he smoking? Scooby-Doo’s best friend is probably best described as a stereotypical hippie with a cowardly streak. Brilliantly reimagined in genderbender form and modern ‘interpretation’ shall we say, with the help of the ABH Norvina Palette Vol 3 and Colourpop’s Cherry Pickin Lip Tint. For an extra feminine element in just the perfect shade, the Cocoa Passion Wig ticks all the boxes.

Scooby-Doo Wig

Scooby-Doo – Ruh-Roh! Not Scooby-Doo in (dare we say) sexy human form? The fabulously furry look was achieved using the C2 Capsule Collection Palette by Sugarpill and character specific necklace by LarmeRose. The two-tone brown lace front wig is a beautifully natural option and complements the Great Dane inspired design delightfully.
